Privacy policy

Vextrilo is a word and logic puzzle app developed by Jerry Crews. This policy covers the Vextrilo app and its public support website.

Progress on your device

The app stores puzzle entries, results, elapsed time, hint usage, streaks, favorites, tutorial completion, and preferences on your device so you can resume play. English word checking and semantic word comparisons run on your device using bundled resources and Apple frameworks.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable Sync with iCloud, your saved library is sent to your own iCloud account and synchronized with your devices. Apple operates this service. Vextrilo uses a device identifier to keep each device’s progress file separate inside your private iCloud storage. We do not receive those files or your Apple account credentials.

You can turn sync off in Vextrilo Settings. Turning it off stops future syncing on that device; it does not by itself delete existing iCloud files. An Apple account and network connection are needed for iCloud sync, but not for local play. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

Your controls and deletion

Use Export progress to save a backup you control, or Import progress to merge a compatible backup. Backups may include puzzle entries and history; share them only with people or services you trust.

Erase progress in Vextrilo Settings clears the local library. If sync is enabled, the reset is applied as your other devices reconnect. Offline devices or separate exported backups may retain copies until they reconnect or you delete those copies. You can also manage or remove Vextrilo’s iCloud storage through Apple’s device settings. We cannot retrieve or delete files in your private iCloud account for you.

Sharing and permissions

Sharing a result opens Apple’s share sheet and sends the text you choose to the destination you select. Vextrilo does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or notifications. It does not include advertising, analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs.

Apple may provide App Store statistics or diagnostic reports under your Apple privacy settings. These are Apple platform services; Vextrilo does not add its own telemetry service.

When you contact support

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send. We use it to respond and investigate the issue, retain it while needed for support and reasonable follow-up, and do not use it for advertising. You can ask us to delete support correspondence, subject to any necessary legal retention. Please send only the information needed to explain your issue.

GitHub support issues are public. Do not post passwords, private backups, personal identifiers, or sensitive screenshots. Use email for a private support request.

This website

This site is hosted by GitHub Pages. We do not add analytics, advertising, cookies, external fonts, or tracking scripts. GitHub may collect technical information, including visitor IP addresses, to operate and secure its hosting service. See GitHub’s privacy statement. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own practices.

Children

Vextrilo does not ask players for personal information or operate user accounts. If a child sends personal information to support, a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion.

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change.
